First, I want to thank the Lord Jesus Christ for inspiring me to take a thought and put it into action. For had it not been for him this endeavor would not have happened.
Secondly I want to thank my dad for as a very young point in my life instilling the drive and the love of the outdoors. Also my older brother who helped by taking me hunting when daddy had to work and didn’t have time. Although daddy has gone on to be with our Savoir I have great memories of our hunts quail hunting and dove hunting and squirrel hunting.
Last but not least I want to thank Les McCully for taking me in and helping me with this endeavor. Les has the know how to build a site from the ground up. Without his help this site would be a longer project to complete and put up.
Mr. McCully has several sites of his own and is also a very big helper in his own Community with being a leader in the Jaycees of his city and helping the needy and the elderly as well as the disabled.
I started going Hunting with DAD and my BROTHER when I was around 4 years old. I was so young dad let me take my pop gun, I can remember on the dove hunts they would come flying in and I would follow them and POP, and nothing would happen. Then dad or my brother would shoot and some how the bird would fold up and hit the ground.
When I was in 3rd grade daddy let me shoot his 12 gauge. Boy that gun kicked like a mule. So he gave me my Brothers older shotgun, an ole Iver Johnson single shot 20 gauge shotgun. Now that was nice and didn’t kick like that 12 gauge.
Daddy raised Pointers, "bird dogs" Just about every weekend we would load up the dogs and go quail hunting during season. At that time there was an abundance of quail, so it didn’t take long for the dogs to get on and hold a point. When we got up to where the dogs were set on point daddy would say "you take’em on this side and I'll take’em on this side. When they flushed they scattered in every direction.
From my early days spent with my dad and brother hunting and fishing and growing into adulthood I have not stopped my love of the outdoors. I have spent many days hunting white tail deer, wild hogs, turkey, raccoon with my Blue tick hounds and trapping nuisance alligators and nuisance animals For The State of Florida.
I have taught Hunter Safety Education for The Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission, specialized in survival, firearm safety and wild life identification. So you see the love I have for the outdoors.
Now being an amputee has not put a curve of this love instilled in me at all. It has slowed me up a tiny bit, but has made me want to help and teach others that it still can be done if so desired and made me crave it much more.
Now for the other events of my life. I have been a Fire Chief, and Batt. Fire Chief of my County to which I reside with Fire Rescue. I am a licensed Taxidermist, a daddy of 1 son, Jeremy W, who I love dearly and a chicken farmer.
New to the disabled scene, I am still looking to expand to the internet age to help others experience just what I have as far as the outdoors. It’s right there just waiting for you to Explore.
I am a Christian and Love God and his teachings. If people would put God first in there lives, believe me, all good things will follow. This world in which we live now is mean and cruel but if you allow God to be your leader, he will bless you in ways that you might not think are possible.
I hope I have not bored you, but gave you an Insight to just who I Randy Underwood am.
And with this give you some help in getting back in the outdoors.
Life is not about what you can Take from it, But what you can Give back to it.
When its Time for the Lord to Call me Home, I want to hear from Him ...
Randy, Job Well Done my Son......
